Day 94 Journal

Busy

Well back on the road after another quick rest day and it was a busy day.

We started by attending the Longview Early Edition Rotary meeting at 0700 (!!) and then traveled to the start point about 25 miles north in Vader.

It was thankfully a lot cooler today which made for much easier walking.

It was a quiet walk along the back roads for much of the day – the I-5 freeway runs close so any serious traffic will stay on there and leave me alone!

Eventually I arrived in Chehalis and was escorted through town by two different Chehalis police cruisers! Once through Chehalis and into the outskirts of Centralia, I was greeted by a Centralia police SUV and was kindly escorted through town to Washington Park where I was met by Rotarians from the Centralia club. It is very nice to have police escorts – I feel much safer and never need to wait to cross the street!

Well there are only 11 more walking days to go so I guess I can start counting them down tentatively!

More to come soon!

Take care
N
