Day 85 and 86 Journals

Resting

Well yesterday was, well, another long day of walking. I left Tangent and arrived in Monmouth, having had the chance to walk along some quieter roads which made it much easier to read my book!

There is little else to say about it really - a usual day without incindent.

I was met in Monmouth by some Rotarians from some of the Salem Rotary Clubs and then we had dinner in Salem, the state capital, where we are staying with Ed and Pat who are taking very good care of us. I was also able to watch the highlights of the last day of Le Tour which was great - of course well done Lance! I can't wait for next year's tour which will be a little more suspenseful.

Today we are resting of course. Later on we visit the Salem Mayor who will be making a presentation to us. Clare is also visiting with a local energy effieciency expert. All in all a very pleasant day before we hit the road again tomorrow and push onwards to death or glory! (Hopefully the latter).

More soon of course.
Take care
N
